Experience: With a degree in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas at Austin and more than thirty years experience in media planning, buying, and analysis, Monica is recognized throughout the Southwest as an expert in the field.  Besides placing commercial advertising for a myriad of agencies and clients, she is well known for helping make the right buys for her political clients.

Monica began her career in media while in college; she worked at the public television station KLRN-TV (now KLRU-TV), which was followed by four years with KTBC-TV. Upon graduation, she joined an Austin advertising agency and worked in media buying there for 7 ½ years and ultimately became a partner in that agency. Recognizing her expertise in media planning and buying, she founded the first media buying firm in Austin in April 1978 – The Davis Group, Inc. – and has directed its course since then. In October 1978, she founded Teleclip, Inc. , the first news broadcast monitoring and clipping service in Austin, and is President of that company.

In addition to her extensive work in the media industry, Monica is an educator in the field as well; she has taught courses in media strategies and planning at The University of Texas at Austin, which is ranked as the #3 program in the nation, and at Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State).

For all that she does, her work does not go unnoticed. Monica was awarded the “Top 25 Women-Owned Businesses” by the Austin Business Journal in 1996, 1998, and 1999, IABM's Monitor of the Year in 1997, and was one of AWRT's Trailblazers in 1998. She regularly volunteers for the Travis County Sheriffs Office's Victims Assistance program.
