We go way back: The Davis Group's Black and White Party

Thank you to all of you who were able to join us for our Black and White Party with special guests, The Eggmen! Especially to all you out-of-towners, THANK YOU. We had a blast, and we hope you all did too! Here are just a few pictures from the party. More to come!

Special thanks to Jen LaGrange for taking these wonderful pictures.

Give a Little: The Davis Group Clothing Drive

Thanks to all the local television and radio stations for their generous contributions, arriving with bags, bundles, and even station vans full of clothing, when they came for their annual negotiations meetings.  WE COLLECTED OVER 1,500 CLOTHING ITEMS! That consisted of 750 women's casual items, 109 women's dressy items, 71 men's dressy items, 301 men's casual items, 254 children's items, and more than 100 pairs of shoes, purses, and belts.

A Great Place to Work: The agency is named as one of the Austin Business Journal's "Best Places to Work 2004"

The Austin Business Journal honored 50 companies in Austin in five categories: Small Business; Medium; Large, Not Based Here But With Significant Presence, and Non-Profit.  All winners were named at a luncheon "pep rally" held on October 14, 2004.  More than 300 nominations were received, and The Davis Group and its sister company, Teleclip, were proud to be among the top 50 overall - and one of 15 winners in the small business category (10-50 employees).

That same week also had "Boss's Day" and the agency decided to surprise its fearless leader, Monica, by filling her office with more than 450 balloons!

An Award of Excellence: Named Austin's "2004 Agency of the Year" by AWRT

Nominated for an "award of excellence," The Davis Group was named AWRT's "2004's Agency of the Year."  Monica Davis, the company's president, owner, and founder, accepted the award on March 10, 2004, given at the American Women in Radio & Television ( AWRT ) luncheon.  Fellow honorees at the luncheon included this year's other excellence awards, including Trailblazer, the most prestigious award given annually by AWRT.  Former Trailblazer recipients include two of The Davis Group's own: Monica Davis and Dotti Norwood .

Celebrating 25 Years: Austin's first media buying service, est. 1978

Local disc jockey legend, Cactus Pryor, signs the card congratulating Monica on her 25 years in business.  Monica founded The Davis Group, Inc. and Teleclip, Inc. in 1978.  Cactus is a long-time friend of Monica and the agency, and his signature was the final touch on a card with hundreds already (it reads like a who's who of Austin media).  The card was concealed from Monica for over two months while radio, television, print, client, and staff added their own personal touch to "Monica-Opoly: The Woman who 'Owns' Media."  A surprise party was thrown by the entire staff of The Davis Group and Teleclip, and also included co-owners of a neighboring agency, Thinkstreet .
